Chairman of the Covid-19 Task Force, Doni Monardo: The Best Vaccine Currently is a Health Protocol
GORONTALO - Chairperson of the National Covid-19 Task Force Doni Monardo said that until now, complying with health protocols is the best 'vaccine' that society can do.
Doni said this in the Covid-19 Handling Coordination Meeting for the Gorontalo Province at the Residence of the Gorontalo Province Governor's Office, on Wednesday (7/10/2020).
"As long as there is no vaccine or medicine, complying with health protocols is the best vaccine to prevent the transmission of COVID-19, " Doni said in an official statement received by InfoPublik in Jakarta, Wednesday (7/10/2020).
In addition, Doni also encouraged the Provincial Government of Gorontalo to further increase public understanding of the importance of health protocols through various space mediums, one of which is local wisdom and the role of community leaders.
"We use media that are friendly to the community, for example socialization through social media, television, online media coverage, use of posters, and so on in accordance with the local language that the local community can understand, " said Doni.
According to him, strengthening community literacy is not only carried out by the government. The role of community leaders can be better heard and accepted by the community in the regions.
"The central and regional governments as well as the community cannot move independently, we must move together. The local government can work together with community leaders who are trusted and respected by the local community so that an understanding of the application of health protocols can be well received, "he said.
On the same occasion, the Governor of Gorontalo Province Rusli Habibie appreciated the performance of the National Covid-19 Handling Task Force which was always responsive and responsive in supporting the handling of Covid-19 in Gorontalo.
"We really appreciate the National Covid-19 Handling Task Force which is very responsive to all needs in supporting the efforts to handle Covid-19 in Gorontalo, " said Rusli.
Rusli also said that the seriousness of the National Covid-19 Handling Task Force became the motivation and enthusiasm for the Gorontalo provincial government and regional apparatus under it to work together to handle Covid-19.
Based on risk zoning data as of October 4, 2020, Gorontalo Province which consists of six districts / cities, most of which are in a moderate risk zone, including Boalemo Regency, Gorontalo Regency, North Gorontalo Regency, Gorontalo City and Pahuwato Regency are in the medium risk zone. Only Bone Bolango District is in a high risk zone.
The coordination meeting activity was closed with the provision of medical equipment in the form of two ventilator units, 2, 000 PCR tests, 2, 000 RNA tests, 2, 000 VTM tests, 15, 000 personal protective equipment (PPE), 10, 000 N95 masks and 500, 000 cloth masks to Gorontalo Province.
